Let’s talk skin care! We get tons of questions about our skin care regimens and the products we use. We all have different skin types, which plays a major role in which products work best for our faces. Below you’ll see our skin types and the products we love most!
Britt’s Skin Essentials
I have very sensitive skin, which tends to get super dry from time to time. Having sensitive skin often limits my product selection, so I typically stick to the milder products and avoid anything with a scrub. I have found that less is truly more when it comes to my face.
To wash my face, I use the Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser or the Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser. The facial cleanser really works to unclog my pores to further remove excess dirt or makeup and cleanses without leaving a residue. The cream cleanser functions the same but has a mild tingle that I really love and makes my face feel silky smooth.
After washing, I pat my face dry with a face towel and then moisturize. My favorite moisturizer is the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum with SPF 30. This moisturizer is sheer and lightweight and works to improve skin tone. I love this moisturizer because it doesn’t feel “cakey” on my face and pairs well when wearing makeup. Not to mention its has SPF in it to protect us from the sun, decreasing the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by sun.
Once a week I try, to do a mud mask using the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. This product is really the bomb.com! It’s natural, deep pore cleansing and actually works to prevent dryness. It multifunctional and can be used on your body AND hair!
My last skin essential is WATER! Yep, good ole H2O. I don’t drink pop at all and I’ll occasionally have juice here and there so water is my go to. Increasing your daily water intake has many benefits and clear skin is one of them. Water works to aid in digestion, circulation, absorption and excretion which in the end leaves your skin clearer and glowing!
Court’s Skin Essentials
I would describe my skin as an oily/ dry combo skin type. Since I’m all about makeup, I try to find products that help best with oil control.
When it comes to washing my face I tend to flake up in the corners of my nose, so I like to use a black soap mask before I wash my face. Two types of masks I use are Shea Moisture African Soap Problem Skin Facial Mask and Yes to Tomatoes Charcoal Scrub. I don’t have a problem skin, like acne prone skin but just found using these masks helps me a lot when it comes to oil control and dryness. Especially when they are combined with my other products.
After I use the mask, I usually leave it on my forehead, my oiliest area and around my nostrils, the dry areas.I also use Bioré Deep Charcoal Cleanser. When it comes to scrubbing off my mask. I use this and try not to scrub too hard, because this product can make your skin very sensitive. I have not yet experienced that, thank goodness.
For moisturizer I use Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturizer. I love it because it works well with all skin types. When it is summer I like to use this product the most because I am very oily. In the winter I use Aquaphor, because of the severe dryness everywhere.
A plus about all of our essentials is that they’re very affordable! We both love affordable products when its come to our skin care. We hope these products gave you some new things to try and incorporate in your regimen. Let us know if you try any!
